THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government is examining the proposal to set up a State Administrative Tribunal on the lines of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan told the Assembly on Wednesday.
Responding to a calling attention motion by Saju Paul of the Communist Party of India-Marxist, Mr. Achuthanandan said the government would study the experience of other States, which had constituted similar tribunals, before taking a decision in the matter.
He said the government was taking steps for redeployment of staff. The report of the Cabinet sub-committee had been received. Further steps would be taken after holding talks with the service organisations.
Responding to calling attention motion by K. Sivadasan Nair of the Congress, Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac said the delay in granting set-off claims to rubber dealers engaged in inter-State trade could be solved once they opted for e-filing.
The Minister also promised to consider the demand to allow carrying over the set-off claims from one financial year to the next at the departmental level.
