Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has deferred till April 28 the hearing of the PIL seeking a direction to the Lucknow Development Authority not to undertake any construction activity on the green belt in posh Gomti Nagar area here. A division bench comprising Justice DP Singh and Justice SN Shukla deferred the hearing after the state government counsel informed the court that a special writ petition has been filed in the Supreme court and the apex court has fixed April 21 next for hearing the matter. The High Court had earlier, as an interim measure, directed the state government not to undertake construction activity in the green belt. However, the SC allowed the state government to raise temporary structure. The state government had changed land use of 35 acres of land of Bhim Rao Ambedkar park and had declared to set up Kanshi Ram Research institute, Rama Bai memorial in the said land.Source : PTI
