Reserving his orders, Justice M Jayachandran directed that written arguments be submitted to the court by April 21. In her petition, Jayalalithaa referred to the October 16 incident of a stranger entering her residence.
She contended that despite repeated threats to her life, the state government had not given her necessary protection. Stating that it was the constitutional duty of the state government to protect those placed in the 'Z' plus security category, she sought a direction to the state government to provide various security measures like bullet proof vehicle, jammer vehicles, police drivers, closed circuit television, metal detectors and anti-sabotage squad.
