NEW DELHI: Before getting ready for the release of Kamala Hassan starrer Dasavatharam , the director and producer of the film on Wednesday took pre-emptive measures in the Supreme Court to prevent any further litigational hurdle before the movie’s scheduled first show on June 16. Producer Oskar Films and director K S Ravikumar, not comfortable with the green signal from the Madras high court which rejected petitions by Vaishnavite groups opposing the name of the film and certain scenes in it, filed a caveat in the apex court through counsel K K Mani. By filing the caveat, they ensured that the losing petitioners before the HC do not spring a surprise appeal before the apex court and obtain any ex-parte interim order without the film’s producer and director getting a chance to oppose the appellant's plea. On May 29, the high court bench comprising Justices K Venkataraman and M Satyanarayana dismissed the petitions filed by 'International Sri Vaishnava Dharma Samrakshana Society' and 'Kalyana Suba Samiti' seeking change of the title of the movie and deletion of certain scenes in it.
