NAGPUR: A high court bench here has taken a serious note of stray animals posing threat to safety of air passengers and aircraft at Dr Ambedkar International Airport in the city.
While hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) of city-based industrialist Basant Lal Shaw on menace of stray dogs in the state, Justice Dilip Singh and justice Vasanti Naik directed the state government to submit an action plan to overcome the stray dogs menace within a week.
The court then invited the attention of government pleader towards the threat posed to safety of aircraft and lives of hundreds of passengers.
The airport has been witnessing a series of incidents in the recent past where wild animals strayed on the runway at Nagpur airport.
