GORAKHPUR/LUCKNOW: Police have slapped Gangster Act on all the accused arrested for running illegal blood racket in Gorakhpur. It means if found guilty, they will have to serve a life term. The accused have also been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for fraud and illegal detention, besides different provisions in the Drug and Cosmetic Act. Gorakhpur police chief Piyush Mordia told TOI that police had a strong case against the accused. He said that the police were also contemplating to slap National Security Act (NSA) on the accused as they were working in the form of a gang and their activities were a threat to the public order and harmony.
