CHAMARAJNAGAR: Kannada Development Authority (KDA) Chairman Siddalingaiah has urged the Union Government to stop development works taken up by the Tamil Nadu government at Hogenakkal.He said that the state Government has planned to move Supreme Court against the illegal work taken up by the Tamil Nadu Government on Karnataka land.Speaking to reporters after inspecting the encroached area in Hogenakkal on Saturday, he said that the Forest Departments’ reports would help the state to defend its stand in exposing the encroachment.Regretting that the Karnataka Govern ment’s failure to develop Hogenakkal and promoting Kannada in the area, Siddalin agaiah said that he would take up the issue with the Tourism Department in providing basic infrastructure and plying regular buses to Hogena kkal from M M Hills and others places.He stressed the need to organise cultural programmes, sign boards in Kannada and starting Kannada schools to promote Kannada in the region. He said that they would also demand a joint survey to remark to put an end to confusions between the riparian states.
