CHANDIGARH: Remarks by the Union law minister notwithstanding, chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday denied that the state had given up its demand for the separate high court for Haryana. Interacting with mediapersons after the proceedings of the opening day of Budget session, the chief minister informed about various visits of committee studying the possibility of setting up of separate high court for the state. He also indicated towards government's proposal of extending the facility of mobile court to the other remote areas of the state. "The Union minister's statement has been wrongly interpreted. Various committees have visited the state and gathered the details. There are so many issues involved, hence it takes time," the chief minister said. Referring to loan waiver for farmers announced in general budget, the chief minister said that the around 10 lakh farmers across the state are likely to avail waivers worth around Rs 5,000 crore. "We are strictly going by the guidelines and are quite sure of meeting the target as announced by finance minister," Hooda said. While claiming an unprecedented turnout of farmer from Haryana to Delhi for the Dhanyawad Rally organized by Haryana Congress, he refrained from commenting on party's choice for Rajya Sabha polls. "March 15 is the last date for filing the nomination and we would give two names till this date," Hooda said. The CM categorically hinted towards the special thrust on health, education and infrastructure, also admitted electricity problem. Criticizing his predecessors for lack of foresight to deal with electricity shortage, he said, "There are people who ruled the state for 10 years and more, but never anticipated the growing electricity requirement. We are already working towards this direction."
