New Delhi, April 06: The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Centre and the Medical Council of India (MCI) after a group of students alleged "arbitrary" treatment by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nasik in barring them from an exam. The students have alleged that the university had barred them from appearing in the first year final examinations in MBBS stating they had not met the conditions required for admission.Whereas, the University had allowed them admission and also permitted them to give semester exams held earlier, they alleged.Issuing notices to the Union Health Ministry, MCI and CBSE (for issuing prospectus for All India MBBS Entrance Examination 2007), Justice Gita Mittal asked them to file their replies by April 10.A petition filed by students studying in a Pune-based medical college through their counsel R K Saini said that presently the students were pursuing their MBBS course in B J Medical College, Pune.They were selected in August 2007 admission in MBBS course through the all India pre-medical and pre-dental examination and later, they also had appeared in the first semester examination in January 2008.
