The Bombay High Court today directed the police to take action against the owners of mobile vans, displaying advertising hoardings across the city. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice V M Kanade observed that the van when parked on the road obstructs free flow of traffic, thereby violating the law. While passing the order on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against illegal advertising hoardings in the city, Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar asked police to take action against the van owners.The court also directed the Maharashtra government to frame a policy regarding mobile advertising hoarding vans.
