No parking of mobile ad hoarding vans on the roads: HC

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court today directed that mobile advertising hoarding vans shall not be parked on the city roads. The Court said that these haording vans obstruct free flow of traffic and also violate rules of public safety, heritage areas and cause distraction to other drivers. The Court also ordered the police to take action against all the hoarding van holders. The Division Bench of Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice V M Kanade passed the order on a PIL filed against illegal advertising hoardings. The Court also held that alteration of vehicles to convert them into hoarding vans violated Motor Vehicle Act. The Court also directed the Maharashtra State Government to frame a policy with regard to mobile hoarding vans.
