The division bench of the Bombay High Court comprising of Mr Justice S A Bobde and Mr Justice N A Britto has issued notices to GIDC and some companies in a petition filed by Mr Augostinho Monteiro and Mr John Perreira. The notices are made returnable in the month of June.
The petitioners have challenged the allotment of plots in Verna Industrial Estate phase IV to Raheja Corporation Pvt Ltd, M/s Inox Merchantile Pvt Ltd and others by GIDC.
The petition has been filed against GIDC, Raheja Corporation Pvt, Paradigm Logistic & Distribution Pvt Ltd, M/s Inox Merchantile Pvt. Ltd and others.
According the petitioners the allotment of the plots is illegal, arbitrary and caused huge loss to the public exchequer.
It is further stated that the allotment has been made in contravention of the Industrial Corporation Act.
The petitioners have alleged that the board meeting was held with only four members and the agenda circulated one day prior to the meeting. The petitioners have demanded that the allotment of the plots should be quashed and set aside.
