Lucknow (PTI): The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Friday directed the Uttar Pradesh government not to initiate action against Samajwadi party General secretary Amar Singh in connection with the plot allotment case till it obtains an order from the Supreme Court to do so.
The court also directed State Government to produce the report of the inquiry held by it into the case before the Supreme court to obtain appropriate order in this regard.
A Vacation division bench comprising Justice S N Shukla and Justice Shiva Charan Sharma passed this order while disposing off a writ petition filed by the SP leader challenging the Government order dated April 21 last by which Principal Secretary Urban Development S R Lakha was appointed as inquiry officer in the matter of allotment of a plot in 1993 to Amar singh in posh Vipul Khand in Gomtinagar,Lucknow.
Amar singh, while amending his writ petition, had sought a direction from the court that no action should be taken against him in persuance of the said inquiry report, since a related matter is pending before the Supreme Court.
