HC raps police for not taking Sun complaints

CHENNAI: It is not fair on the part of Madurai police to have refused to receive complaints from Sun TV network officials against Royal Cable Vision (RCV) and local cable operators, a judge of the Madras High Court observed on Thursday. Justice A Kulasekaran made the observation when a new writ petition, filed by an authorised signatory of the Sun network, came up for admission. Sun TV has moved the court for a direction to the state police to accept its complaint against the RCV, and take action. The petition, filed by L Jyotheeswaran, alleged that RCV and a group of 11 local cable television networks had been illegally tapping the signals of Sun TV.
