Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has issued show cause notices to the National Law University, Jodhpur and two top Rajasthan Government officials for not giving reservation to OBC candidates in the NLU entrance examination held on May 11.A single judge Bench of the High Court has served the show cause notices to the Vice Chancellor NLU, Jodhpur, Secretary Higher education, and the Chief Secretary of the State on a petition which alleged that the NLU did not provide reservation to the OBC candidates in the said test.The petition contended that there are nine national law universities across the country and all of them give reservation to the OBC candidates except NLU, Jodhpur.The petitioner also brought to the notice of the court that the State Government through its notification dated November 3, 1999, has granted 21 per cent reservation to OBC candidates in Educational institutions. © Copyright 2008 PTI.
