First Indian law firm's UK entry creates a splash

LONDON: FoxMandal Little has become the first major Indian law house to set up a practice in the UK and in the process created quite a splash in the local legal community. The firm intends to service the growing market among overseas corporations and investors for Indian lawyers. At a time when a host of British and overseas law firms are setting up offices in India, FoxMandal Little has reversed the move and hopes to access overseas clients directly with this move. The level of interest in the entire legal business in India, could be gauged from the launch event, which was attended by senior partners of almost every major British law firm in hundreds. The Law Society of England and Wales, which is the apex solicitors body, even hosted a special reception to welcome the arrival of the Indians.
