The Allahabad High Court refused to stay the arrest of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Chaudhary Mahendra Singh Tikait for using objectionable language against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.The order was passed by a Division Bench comprising Justices Vinod Prasad and A K Singh on a petition filed by Tikait's lawyer Veer Singh on his behalf.The petition sought a stay on the BKU leader's arrest and cancellation of the FIR lodged against him.Hearing the petition, the Bench noted that if Tikait surrenders before the court, it would immediately consider his bail plea.UNI
