Chandigarh, April 17 The Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked the Haryana government to submit a status report of the alleged abduction case of INLD councillor Gautam Prasad, who went missing on April 9.
The directions have been passed on a petition filed by Prasad’s wife Kunti Devi.
She had moved court seeking his release at the earliest. The High Court had issued notices to the home secretary of Haryana and Superintendent of Police, Panchkula.
Devi had alleged that her husband was kidnapped by two local councillors on the directions of Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan. Devi had filed a complaint alleging that her husband was abducted by a close aid of deputy CM, and Naresh Rawal, councillor of ward No. 13. But said that the police officers were not taking any step to find Prasad.
