CHANDIGARH: The Bhadaur case - in which one person was killed and others injured in a clash over disputed gurdwara land - has been a catalyst in bringing into focus the IAS and IPS officers involved in various cases. Acting on directions of Punjab and Haryana High Court during the previous hearing in Bhadaur case, the Punjab government on Thursday submitted the list to Justice HS Bhalla during the resumed hearing. The document given by Punjab additional advocate general Reeta Kohli includes names of 19 IAS officers - Sarvesh Kaushal, Jagjit Puri, Mandeep Singh, B Sarkar, G S Pirzada, CS Srivastava, HIS Grewal, Khushi Ram, JS Maini, Dr Swaran Singh, RN Gupta, DS Jaspal, Dharam Vir, Harjit Singh, Kirpa Shankar Saroj, Shruti Singh and DS Grewal. Other IAS officers facing CBI probe pertaining to Forest Hill Resort are KBS Sidhu, SC Aggarwal, GS Grewal. While K Siva Prasad faces a similar case, R Venkatratnam does under 420, 409, 468, 471 IPC. The names of Tejinder Kaur and SS Dhillon also figure in the list. The names of IPS officers on the list are SS Virk, SS Saini, KK Attri, Mohammed Izhar Alam, GD Pandey, RP Singh, SS Sodhi, Paramraj Singh, Rajinder Singh and DS Garcha. The court has fixed May 1 as the next date of hearing. An additional list of officers involved in or facing cases would be submitted in the next hearing, the state additional advocate general said. Justice Bhalla had earlier directed the state government to furnish a detailed list of IAS, IPS officers charge-sheeted by courts and whether these officers were charge-sheeted under service rules or departmental proceedings. The court had previous stayed the filing of a supplementary chargesheet (challan) on the plea of Bhadaur Gurdwara Kand Virodhi Action Committee as it is seeking a CBI probe into the entire episode. The state counsel also placed on record a letter from Jalandhar division commissioner SR Ladhar, who was DC Sangrur in October 2006 when the Bhadaur incident took place, addressed to state chief secretary, stating that a magisterial inquiry into the death of one person in police custody had been ordered on the basis of communication from the then SP Barnala.
