The division bench, yesterday, had asked Trivedi for updates on the steps taken by the government with regards to the death of Dipesh and Abhishek Vaghela, whose bodies were recovered on July 5 from the bank of Sabarmati river. The Advocate-General also informed the court that the investigation in the case, which has been handed over to the CID (crime) from the local police, will be headed by the Additional Director General of Police. However, the head of the CID investigating team is subject to approval of Justice Trivedi, heading the judicial inquiry, he submitted. The other members in the investigation team will include forensic science expert and a doctor who will assist police at various stages of the probe, Trivedi added. Following the submission of Advocate-General, the divison bench adjourned the hearing into the PIL to next week.
