Bombay HC to resume hearing in Neeraj Grover murder case

Mumbai, July 25: The hearing in the sensational murder of Neeraj Grover, creative head of TV production house Synergy Adlabs, will resume in the Bombay High Court on Friday. The hearing comes nearly two weeks after Kannada actress Marrayya Monica Susayraj, co-accused in Grover’s murder, moved to the Bombay High Court seeking a copy of her confessional statement. The court then asked the prosecution to respond to the application filed by Susayraj. Division bench of Justices Bilal Nazki and Ashutosh Kumbhakoni had also directed Susayraj's lawyer Nitin Pradhan to furnish copies of the affidavit filed by police in the lower court and the fir after they are translated from Marathi into English. The Sessions Court had rejected Susayraj's application for the statement on June 19, following which she has moved the high court. According to police records, Susayraj had given her confessional statement to the police on May 28. In her application Susayraj’s lawyer said that as an accused, she is liable for a copy of the confessional statement under the provisions of the evidence act, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Constitution of India. Susayraj and her naval officer fiancee Jerome Mathew were arrested in May this year for murdering Neeraj Grover, media personality. The two had allegedly stabbed Grover to death, cut his body into pieces and burnt it at Manor in Thane.
